  2.    The RAR Archiver
  3.    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  4.    License for use and distribution

  8.       The RAR archiver is distributes as try-before-you-buy. This means:
  9.  
  10.    1. All copyrights to RAR are exclusively owned by the author
  11.       - Eugene Roshal.
  12.  
  13.    2. Anyone may use this software during a test period of 40
  14.       days. Following this test period of 40 days or less, if
  15.       you wish to continue to use RAR, you MUST register.
  16.  
  17.    3. There are 5 basic types of licenses issued for RAR, these are:
  18.  
  19.       a.  A single computer USAGE license.  The user purchases ONE license
  20.           to USE the RAR archiver on ONE computer.
  21.  
  22.       b.  A Multiple USAGE license.  The user purchases a number of USAGE
  23.           licenses for use, by the purchaser, the purchaser's employees or
  24.           accredited agents, on the same number of computers.
  25.  
  26.       c.  A SITE USAGE license.  The user purchases a single USAGE license,
  27.           authorising the USE of RAR, by the purchaser, the purchaser's
  28.           employees or accredited agents, on an unlimited number of computers
  29.           at the same physical SITE location.  This SITE location would
  30.           normally be defined as a single building, but could be considered
  31.           to be a number of buildings within the same, general, geographical
  32.           location, such as an industrial estate or small town.

  34.       d.  A CORPORATE, NATIONAL or INTERNATIONAL USAGE license.  The user
  35.           purchases a single USAGE license, authorising the USE of RAR, by
  36.           the purchaser, the purchaser's employees or accredited agents, on
  37.           an unlimited number of computers, regardless of location, but
  38.           owned or under the control of the purchaser.

  40.       e.  A CORPORATE, RESALE license.  The user purchases a license for
  41.           a limited and specified number of copies for the purpose of
  42.           reselling individual licenses to a third party with RAR being
  43.           included as a part of another application or system.  This license
  44.           does NOT allow the direct reselling of RAR as a stand-alone
  45.           product.

  47.       Once registered, the user is granted a non-exclusive license to use
  48.       RAR on as many computers as defined by the licensing terms above
  49.       according to the number of licenses purchased, for any legal purpose.
  50.       The registered RAR software may not be rented or leased, but may be
  51.       permanently transferred, in it's entirety, if the person receiving it
  52.       agrees to the terms of this license.  If the software is an update,
  53.       the transfer must include the update and all previous versions.
  54.  
  55.    4. The RAR/WinRAR unregistered trial version may be freely distributed,
  56.       with exceptions noted below, provided the distribution package is not
  57.       modified in any way.
  58.       
  59.       a.  No person or company may distribute separate parts of the package
  60.           with the exception of the UnRAR components, without written
  61.           permission of the copyright owner.
  62.       
  63.       b.  The RAR/WinRAR unregistered trial version may not be distributed
  64.           inside of any other software package without written permission
  65.           of the copyright owner.
  66.  
  67.       c.  Hacks/crack, keys or key generators may not be included on the
  68.           same distribution.

  70.    5. To register you must complete the registration form and send
  71.       it, with registration fee, to one of the authorized
  72.       registration sites, see RAR_SITE.TXT.
  73.  
  74.    6. THE RAR ARCHIVER IS DISTRIBUTED "AS IS".  NO WARRANTY OF ANY
  75.       KIND IS EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  YOU USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
  76.       NEITHER THE AUTHOR NOR THE AGENTS OF THE AUTHOR WILL BE LIABLE 
  77.       FOR DATA LOSS, DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS OR ANY OTHER KIND OF LOSS
  78.       WHILE USING OR MISUSING THIS SOFTWARE.

  80.    7. There are NO additional license fees, apart from the cost of
  81.       registration, associated with the creation and distribution of RAR
  82.       archives, volumes, self-extracting archives or self-extracting
  83.       volumes.  Legally registered owners may use their copies of RAR to
  84.       produce archives and self-extracting archives and to distribute those
  85.       archives free of any additional RAR royalties.
  86.  
  87.    8. You may not use, copy, emulate, clone, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  88.       decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the
  89.       licensed program, or any subset of the licensed program, except as
  90.       provided for in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall
  91.       result in immediate and automatic termination of this license and
  92.       may result in criminal and/or civil prosecution.
  93.  
  94.       Neither RAR binary code, WinRAR binary code, UnRAR source or UnRAR
  95.       binary code may be used or reverse engineered to re-create the RAR
  96.       compression algorithm, which is proprietary, without written
  97.       permission of the author.
  98.  
  99.       RAR and WinRAR keyfiles may not be distributed, except as stated
  100.       in item 3) above, outside of the area of legal control of the
  101.       person or persons who purchased the original license, without
  102.       written permission of the copyright holder.
  103.  
  104.       All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by Eugene Roshal.
  105.  
  106.    9. Installing and using RAR signifies acceptance of these terms
  107.       and conditions of the license.
  108.  
  109.   10. If you do not agree with the terms of this license you must remove
  110.       RAR files from your storage devices and cease to use the product.
  111.
