- Installation Issues
- ===================
-
- Hyena has very few DLL conflicts, as most systems
- already have the necessary components installed
- that are needed to run Hyena. If you are unable
- to run Hyena after installation:
-
- - Ensure that you have installed Hyena logged on as
- an administrator on the local machine.
-
- - If you have not rebooted after installation, go
- ahead and reboot now. Perform a complete shutdown,
- including turning the power off on the computer.
- Then try running Hyena again.
-
- - See if you have any DLLs in the Hyena installation
- directory, usually in C:\program files\Hyena.
- If you find any, delete or rename them.
-
- - Check the versions of mfc42u.dll and msvcrt.dll
- that are in your SYSTEM32 directory, and make
- sure that the current ones are NOT marked read-only.
- If they are marked read-only, remove the read-only
- attribute. Then, reinstall Hyena again, and reboot
- after installing. Make sure that you are logged on
- as an administrator (of the local machine) during the
- installation, as NT/2000 will require full admin
- rights in order to install some DLLs.
-
- - Scan your local drives for any duplicates versions
- of the mfc42u.dll or msvcrt.dll files, and if you
- find them, either rename or delete them.
-
- If any additional installation information is added,
- it will be posted at http://www.systemtools.com/hyena/faq.htm.
