- To create a new sample, press the <b>Add New Sample</b> button.

- To record a new sound from the microphone into the current sample,
- press the <b>Record</b> button.

- To load an existing .WAV file into the current sample, press the <b>Import</b> button.

- To copy a recorded sound from the clipboard into the current sample, press the <b>Paste</b> button.

- To copy a recorded sound from the current sample to the clipboard, press the <b>Copy</b> button.

- To hear the current sample, press the <b>Play</b> button.

- To filter, reverse, trim, adjust the volume or pitch of the current sample, press the <b>Edit</b> button.

- To delete the current sample, press the <b>Delete</b> button.

- To assign the current sample to a different row on the rhythm grid, click the <b>Rhythm Row</b> list box.

- To adjust the volume of this sample, relative to other samples, click the <b>Volume</b> list box.

- After creating your samples, you can insert them into the rhythm track the same as any other drum sound.
- <br><br>
- There are several things you can do to increase the volume of a sample.
- Experiment with one or more of the following until you get the sound you want.
- <dir>
- <li>In the window brought up by <b>Create Sampled Sounds...</b> or <b>Edit Samples...</b>, set Volume all the way to the right.
- <li>In that same window, press the Edit... button to edit the waveform.
- Then, press the Louder button until it warns you that doing so would introduce distortion.
- <li>On the Composer page for the Rhythm track, set the volume control all the way to the right.
- <li>On the record page, set the volume for the rhythm track all the way to the right.
- <li>On the Mixer page, set the volume for Audio all the way to the right.
