  4.    The FAR manager is so tightly integrated with  its  plugins  that  it  is
  5. simply meaningless to talk about FAR and not to mention the plugins. Plugins
  6. present an almost limitless expansion of the features of FAR.

  8.    Without going into details, some of the capabililities can be noted:

  10.   * syntax highlighting in program source texts.
  11.   * working with FTP-servers (including access through proxy).
  12.   * search and replace in many files at the same time, using regular
  13.     expressions.
  14.   * renaming groups of files with support for complex compound masks
  15.     consisting of substitution symbols and templates.
  16.   * NNTP/SMTP/POP3/IMAP4 clients and sending messages to a pager.
  17.   * working with non-standard text screen resolutions.
  18.   * conversion of texts from one national code page to another.
  19.   * manipulating the contents of the Recycle Bin.
  20.   * Process priority control on local or network PC.
  21.   * Words autocomplete in editor and working with templates.
  22.   * Windows system registry editing.
  23.   * Creating and modifying Windows shortcuts.
  24.   * File and text operations making it more comfortable to use FidoNet.
  25.   * Files UU-encode and UU-decode.
  26.   * WinAmp control and MP3-tags modifying.
  27.   * Quake PAK-files processing.
  28.   * Printers control, both connected to PC and network.
  29.   * Connection and debugging of queries to ODBC-compatible
