PowerCrypt 2000 is a program that allows you to encrypt your files and send secure e-mail. With PowerCrypt 2000 the strength of the encryption is determined by the length of the password that you type in at the time that you encrypt your files or send your secure e-mail. The longer the password that you use, the stronger that the encryption becomes.
The program interface resembles the Windows Explorer, and is broken down into two sections. The top section is where you select your files for encryption, and in the bottom section you select the location where you want to create your encrypted file. PowerCrypt 2000 lets you select multiple files for encryption at the same time, and will also create a compressed archive containing your encrypted files.
In addition to file encryption and secure e-mail, PowerCrypt 2000 also has a secure clipboard feature. With the secure clipboard, you can take text from the clipboard, encrypt or decrypt it, and then send it back to the clipboard for pasting into your documents.
