I hope you find this program useful. This program is freeware and is freely distributable.
Instead of making filters in e-mail programs, use AntiSPAM. Why? Because with filters you must first download messages and then filter them. With AntiSPAM you delete undesirable messages from your server before you download, thus saving you time and money. Before you use an e-mail program like Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Eudora, etc., start AntiSPAM. You will then avoid downloading stupid advertisements. It's also possible to set up the program to start every time you start Windows and automatically delete undesirable messages when you connect to the Internet.
How Antispam works.
AntiSPAM deletes (from your POP3 server) all messages that are received from e-mail addresses or domains specified in the attached file spamers.txt. (Spamers.txt includes a few spammers addresses to get you started.) You can manage spamers.txt either with Notepad or directly with AntiSPAM. You can add words in spamers.txt (e.g., sale, market, new, cheap, inexpensive, make money, or something that spammers use in the subject of their messages), to delete messages containing these words in the subject. If you don't want to receive messages from certain persons, add their e-mail addresses to your list--their messages will automatically be deleted from your POP3 server. You won't even know they were trying to bother you again!
By right clicking on different parts of the AntiSpam window you will see some useful options.
Note: You can use AntiSPAM as some kind of "antivirus" software (on next way): add in spammers list message subjects for known viruses, message subjests for "hoax" viruses etc. and you can easy delete such messages from server before download it. We already add subjects for LOVELETTER and some variations and few more viruses.
Features added in the current version.
Checking messages for empty From or Subject fields and attachments.
A preview: If you check the box "Preview message before deleting", when the program finds a spam message in your mailbox, you will be able to preview the message header (especially look in From and Subject) to be sure that you really want to delete the message--just in case you made a mistake when you set up the list of spammers.
Support for LAN users or users who have a permanent Internet connection: When you check "Clean my mailbox once every XX min" (where XX is number of minutes selected in drop-down box), the program will clean your mailbox at the specified interval.
Support for users with home networks: When you check "Wait XX sec. before cleaning" (where XX is number of seconds selected in drop-down box), the program will wait the specified number of seconds before starting to clean your mailbox when an Internet connection is detected.
Support to clean by size, auto delete messages larger than XXXX KB, and preview messages: If you click on "Clean by size" you will see a window with all new messages listed, their size, senders and subjects. Now you can right click on selected message and preview the first three message lines. If you select "Clean by message size" this window will auto display. If you check "Auto delete msgs larger than XXXX KB" (you must enter the value XXXX ), you will see this window, all large messages will be deleted, and you can preview or delete the rest of the messages.
P.S. We expect your suggestions about how to upgrade program. Thank you for using AntiSPAM.
