Introduction
------------
Thank you for trying EnZip, a FreeWare Archive Utility for Windows 95/98/NT
which is compatible with PkZip and WinZip. Features a modern easy to learn
interface and full support for zip/unzip actions.
Please send any feedback you may have on EnZip, whether it be bug reports or
feature requests. Every effort will be made to include all popular requests in
future versions.
EnZip was written with the help of the excellent Delphi-Zip package written by
Eric W. Engler and Chris Vleghert, based on the work of the Info-Zip group.
Delphi-Zip can be found on the web at
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Orchard/8607/
and Info-Zip can be found at
http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/
Please DO NOT contact either parties for support with EnZip, all correspondence
should be sent to the e-mail address on the contact page: chris_m@lineone.net
System Requirements
-------------------
EnZip supports the following platforms;
* Microsoft Windows 95(+)
* Microsoft Windows 98
* Microsoft Windows NT 4.0(+)
+ Requires COMCTL32.DLL Ver 4.72 (or higher).
This Windows update is available from the EnZip Home page;
http://website.lineone.net/~chris_m
NB: If you have ie4/5 installed then you do not need this update.
However, if you are unsure whether you need this or not, running the
update is perfectly safe and will let you know if your system needs
the update.
Installation
------------
EnZip is supplied in a single executable setup program. Simply run the
supplied setup file and follow the instructions. A program group will be created
on the start menu for easy access to EnZip.
The setup program will also associate Zip files in Windows Explorer with EnZip
to give you the full benefit of all the programs features. Extra context menus
will be added within Explorer to give additional benefits. Both the file
association and context menus can be switched off from within the EnZip
'Customize' dialog.
Features
--------
* Zip and Unzip without any other utilities
* Create, Open, List and manage ZIP files
* Create powerful Self-Extracting Archives
* Supports Multiple Disk Spanning
* Password encryption of ZIP and Self-Extracting files
* Scan zip files for viruses
* Checkout and Install from ZIP archives
* Supports folders within archives
* Drag and Drop support for zip and unzip actions
* Email or FTP without leaving EnZip
* Explorer context menus
* Explorer style interface

Known Issues
------------
There are some known problems with Multiple-Disk support such as dialog prompts
only responding to keyboard input and not mouse clicks. These problems will be
resolved soon.
Some problems have been reported with certain Graphics Cards. Most problems
can be resolved by installing the latest drivers from the manufacturer. Certain
cards also cause EnZip to lockup when using the Windows standard 16 color
driver (as used by Safe Mode). If you experience any such problems, please
contact support at 'enzip@ntlworld.com'.
