  25. GoldWave is a sound editor, player, recorder, and converter
  26. for Windows.  You can use it to make sounds for website, 
  27. answering machine messages, or even record your own
  28. CDs (when used with CD Recorder software).

  77. 2.0 Installation, Uninstall

  80. 2.1) Installation

  82. If you downloaded the self-installing version, simply run
  83. the program.
  84.  
  85. If you downloaded the zip version, create a new
  86. "GoldWave" folder, such as:
  87.   C:\Program Files\GoldWave
  88. and unzip or copy all files into that folder.  Create a short
  89. cut to the "goldwave.exe" program file in the folder.

  91. 2.2) Uninstall
  92.  
  93. If you installed the self-installing version, you can use
  94. the Windows "Add/Remove Programs" feature under Control Panel.
  95.  
  96. To manually uninstall, delete the following files from your
  97. Windows folder:
  98.     express.eqx
  99.     gwpreset.ini
  100.     goldwave.ini
  101. Delete the GoldWave folder.  Other files are listed in
  102. section 4.0.

  106. 3.0 Important Additional Notes
  107. --------------------------------------------------------------

  109. 3.1) Windows 95 or later is required to run this version.
  110.  
  111. 3.2) Video display must be configured for 16-bit colour for
  112. best results.  If you experience any lock-ups during recording
  113. or playback, update your video driver and your sound card
  114. driver.
  115.  
  116. 3.3) For MPEG Layer 3 support (mp3) you must have the Windows
  117. Media modules installed.  Installing the new version of
  118. Media Player will add these modules to your system.  To save
  119. MP3 files, either BladeEnc.dll or Lame_Enc.dll needs to be
  120. installed in the GoldWave folder.
