Introduction:
-------------
FreeDVD is an easy to use completely FREE DVD Player for Windows.
You can playback almost any DVD and it works with just about all
DVD Drives.
New in Version 2.0.0

Installation (Win95/98/ME/NT/2000):
------------------------------------
Before you begin installation, please make sure that you have the latest
version of Direct X installed on your system. Otherwise, FreeDVD will not
run properly.
1. Run Setup.exe from the directory where you extracted the files
and follow the instructions.
2. Restart your computer.
Uninstalling FreeDVD:
---------------------
If you wish to uninstall FreeDVD goto Add/Remove programs on your
Control Panel and select FreeDVD in the installed programs list.
Click the Add/Remove button.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that you have DMA enabled for you DVD drive.
Otherwise DVD playback will be slow and choppy. If DVD playback is
slow, follow the steps below.

Enabling DMA:
-------------
1. Click on the 'Start' button
2. Select 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'
3. Now double-click the 'System' icon
4. Select the 'Device Manager' Tab
5. Select the [+] next to CD-ROM and you will see your DVD drive
appear in the list. Double-click that drive. A properties window
will appear.
6. Next select the 'Settings' Tab and check the box labeled DMA. If
the box is checked, DMA is enabled. If it is unchecked, you need
to check it now.
7. Click 'OK' and restart your computer so that the changes can take
effect.
Common Errors and Fixes:
------------------------
Failed to locate IDVDInfo2 or IDVDControl2 interface you may have an out
of date component. Please upgrade to newer version of Dshow.
Suggested Fix:

You need to update your version of Direct X to the latest version.
You can do this by going to http://www.microsoft.com/directx and downloading
the current version. When it is installed the components should be updated
on your system and the problem should be fixed.
