__/Simple Instructions:
To install ReXtend, run the selfextracting file or, if you got the zipped archive, unzip it and run the setup program. Follow the on-screen instructions.
To uninstall ReXtend, go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and select ReXtend from the list. If you cannot find ReXtend in the list, you can uninstall it manually by running it with the /Remove switch; I.e "ReXtend.exe /Remove".
To change the extension of a file using ReXtend, right-click on any file and choose Send To\ReXtend. It's the one with a X-shaped-clip icon.
Enter a new extension or choose one from the ComboBox. The ComboBox store the extensions of the original file and the new extension you gave the file. In time, this might be a very large list (hopefully ;->)
Press the 'ReXtend' button and the file will be renamed with the new extension.
Check the 'Rename All' box and ReXtend will rename ALL files in the folder with the files extension to the new extension.
If a file with the new name already exist, you will be told.
Will add a shortcut to ReXend.exe in the SendTo menu. Will also add the uninstall key in the Control Panel.
/Remove
Will remove the shortcut from the SendTo menu and the uninstall key in Control Panel. It will not remove the files from disc.
/Reset
Will remove all extensions ReXtend has saved so far. Use this if the list has been screwed up or whatever.
[Filename]
Full path to filename.
This is the file that ReXtend will change the extension for. Should be retrievd through the SendTo menu, although a filename can be manualy added.
__/Future Features:
- Command line operations to automate the ReXtend process.
- Cascade Context menu in Explorer.
- Anything else? Mail me your suggestion!
