  12. Windows 95 users will need to install either DirectX7 or DirectX8 for Gameport joystick support.

  33. Please perform the following steps to install Gameport Joystick drivers in Windows 95:

  36. Option A:
  37. 1. Install DirectX 7a
  38. 2. Reboot the computer
  39. 3. Proceed to install the Sound Blaster PCI128 Driver Web Release

  42. Option B
  43. 1. Install DirectX 8.0
  44. 2. Reboot the computer
  45. 3. Install DCOM v1.3 (as directed by the DirectX 8 installation)
  46. 4. Reboot the computer
  47. 5. Proceed to install the Sound Blaster PCI128 Driver Web Release

  50. If Gameport Joystick drivers are not installed properly after performing the above steps, please proceed with the steps below:
  51. 1. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
  52. 2. In the Control Panel window, double-click the System icon
  53. 3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Device Manager tab
  54. 4. On the Device Manager tabbed page, double-click Sound, Video And Game Controllers, and then double-click Creative Gameport Joystick
  55. 5. On the Driver tabbed page, click the Update Driver button
  56. 6. In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click the No option, then click the Next button
  57. 7. In the Models box, click Creative Gameport Joystick (8-15-2000) 
  58. 8. Click the Finish button to complete the installation, then click the Yes button to restart your computer
