New Tool! "WebUpdate" -- Automatically detects, downloads, and installs updates of System Mechanic on a regular basis using the Internet.
New Tool! "System Customizer" -- almost 100 hidden settings in Windows 95,98,NT, and 2000 can be customized with this tool, including boot screen images, menu speed, security settings, etc.
New Tool! "Maintenance Wizard" -- A one-stop system maintenance tool that combines an easy to use step-by-step interface with several of System Mechanic's essential maintenance tools in order to allow users to easily tune-up their system in one go.
Enhanced Tool: StartUp Manager -- Can now connect to a computer remotely via a network and manage its startup configuration. Now also supports autoexec.bat, config.sys, and NT/2000's "all users" startup group. StartUp Manager can now also save and load consolidated "Startup Profiles", which allow for easy switching between various startup "themes". StartUp Manager also now alerts the user to "invalid" startup items.
Enhanced Tool: Registry Cleaner -- Four new areas of the registry can be scanned for problems and fixed, including Font entries, Invalid ClassID references, Bad file associations, and invalid Virtual Device Drivers.
Enhanced Tool: Eraser -- Various new options for privacy, including the ability to erase history of Office 95/97/2000 recently used documents, etc. Also now includes the ability to "lock" Internet cookies from being erased, in order to allow users to save the ones that assist them, such as cookies that automatically remember their login name, etc.
Enhanced Tool: NetBooster -- Various new "tweaks" to further speed up and optimize both Internet and network/LAN connections, including new items specific for Windows 2000, etc.
Enhanced Tool: Duplicate File Finder -- This tool now alerts users as to which duplicates might be potentially dangerous to remove, and which duplicates should be ok to delete."
