P3SN - Pentium III serial number deactivation utility, version 0.815
Copyright 1999 by Richard Coppola for PC-WELT Magazine.
====================================================================
This simple utility deactivates the serial number of Pentium-III-CPUs from
DOS. The idea behind this straight forward approach is to turn the serial
number off before other applications can read it. P3SN is especially useful
if your Bios doesn't support deactivation of the serial number. However it
may be used in addition to other similar Software (i.e. Bios or Intels
related utility) to enhance safety.
P3SN is best loaded by placing a line like "C:\P3SN.EXE" at the beginning of
your file AUTOEXE.BAT. Note that P3SN requires Real-Mode to deactivate the
serial number. That means it won't work if you have a memory manager like
EMM386.EXE loaded (check your file CONFIG.SYS). It also won't work at the
DOS-Prompt from Windows, which wouldn't be very useful anyway.
