- Matrox Tweak Utility
- Revision 1.12
-
-
- Overview
- ========
-
- With this program, you may be able to increase the clock speeds that the
- Matrox display driver uses with your Matrox graphics card. Increasing
- clock speeds may increase display performance.
-
- Supported operating systems: Windows 95/98
- Supported graphics cards: Matrox G400-based graphics cards
- (including Millennium G400 MAX cards)
-
- WARNING: With this program, you may be able to select settings that your
- graphics card doesn't fully support. If unsupported settings are applied,
- your display may become garbled or unusable.
-
- Note: We recommend that only advanced users use this program. Matrox doesn't
- provide additional customer support for this program.
-
-
- Installation
- ============
-
- To install, run the "setup" program included with this program.
-
- Note: This program doesn't work with certain Matrox display drivers.
- Specifically, this program doesn't work with Matrox display drivers that
- are WHQL (Microsoft) certified.
-
-
- Usage
- =====
-
- To use this program, click the Matrox Tweak Utility icon on your Windows taskbar
- -- a menu appears. To quickly open the main Matrox Tweak Utility dialog box,
- you can double-click the icon.
-
- With the main Matrox Tweak Utility dialog box, you can enable or disable advanced
- display driver options that aren't available in Matrox PowerDesk software.
- Also, you can change your graphics card clock speeds for each display
- resolution.
-
- When you apply a clock speed change, you're prompted to accept the change. If
- your display doesn't appear okay (for example, pixels aren't properly drawn on
- the screen or your display is unusable), click "No" or simply wait 15 seconds
- to restore your previous settings.
-
- If your display doesn't appear okay with a higher clock speed setting,
- that setting may be too high for your graphics card and you should try a
- lower clock speed. Your graphics card may be capable of different maximum
- clock speeds for different display resolutions.
-
- Note: If unsupported settings are applied, your display may become garbled
- or unusable only after using these settings for a while. Problems are more
- likely to appear while using 3D programs.
-
-
- Troubleshooting
- ===============
-
- If your display becomes garbled or unusable immediately after new settings
- are applied, wait 15 seconds for your display to be restored. If your display
- isn't restored:
-
- (1) Press [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del] TWICE to restart your computer. If that doesn't
- work, press the reset button on your computer.
-
- (2) BEFORE Windows starts, press [F8] for the Windows startup menu to appear.
- (With Windows 98, if [F8] doesnÆt work, instead try pressing and holding
- [Ctrl] before Windows starts.)
-
- (3) Select the number for "safe mode", then press [Enter].
-
- (4) Double-click the Matrox Tweak Utility icon on your Windows taskbar.
-
- (5) When prompted, click "Yes" to remove Matrox Tweak Utility settings.
-
- (6) Restart your computer normally.
