MSN Messenger Service is an Internet instant messaging service from Microsoft that helps you keep in touch with your friends online, and make voice phone calls.
It lets you see if people you know are online, send and receive instant messages, talk with several friends at once, and control who can see and contact you. You can set your status as any of the following: online, invisible, busy, be right back, away from the computer, and out to lunch. Other features include: support for voice conversations (PC to PC or PC to phone), easy and isntant sharing of files with your friends, the ability to send messages to pagers and cell phones, and the ability to sign in with your e-mail address.
In addition, MSN Messenger Service notifies you when e-mail has arrived at Hotmail.com (a free Web-based e-mail service).
This latest release supports voice conversations, letting you call PC to PC, or PC to phone. You can now instantly share files easily, including pictures, music and documents. You can now express yourself with graphical "emoticons". You can also set up a public profile (complete with a picture) so that your friends can see what you're up to. You can also now send messages to your friends cell phones and pagers. Other new features include: the ability to sign in with your e-mail address, improved integration with HotMail, and the ability to invite friends to a NetMeeting or to play a game.
