WHAT IS FILE SHREDDER?
File Shredder can split a large file into smaller pieces. You
can later combine those small files to restore the original.
You can combine them in any PCs (even in DOS machines) without
installing any additional software.
HOW TO SHRED A FILE?
1. SELECT TARGET FILE. You first select a file to shred. Click
[Browse] button, or drag & drop the target file onto File
Shredder window.
2. SELECT TARGET DIRECTORY. You then pick the directory where
smaller files (shredded files) are to be stored. Click
[Browse] button to select the target directory.
3. CHOOSE SHREDDING OPTION. Choose how you want to split the
target file. You have the following three options:
a) SHRED INTO ... PIECES. You can specify the number of
smaller files you want to create. For example, if your
target file is 1000KB and if you shred it into five pieces,
then you'll get five files each with 200KB in size.
b) SHRED INTO PIECES OF ... KB. You can specify the file size
(in KB) of each smaller file. For example, if your target
file is 1000KB and if you specify that you want to shred it
into pieces of 200KB, then you will get five 200KB-files.
c) SHRED TO FILL THE ENTIRE DISKS. You can use this option if
you want to shred a large file into multiple removable
media (such as floppy disks). This option shreds the target
file into multiple disks in the way that the disks will
be full after shredding, regardless of their original free
disk space. This allows maximum use of removable media.
4. CLICK SHRED BUTTON when you are ready.
HOW TO COMBINE FILES?
1. COPY ALL PIECES IN ONE DIRECTORY. Copy all the smaller files
File Shredder generated into one single directory. Also copy
the batch file that was generated.
2. EXECUTE THE BATCH FILE. Double click the batch file (.bat file)
to execute it. This will combine all the smaller files to
restore the original one. After the original file was restored,
you can then remove any other files, including the batch file.
