Awave Studio is a full-featured audio and wavetable instrument converter, editor and player.
Awave Studio can read over 100 audio file formats from different platforms, synthesizers, and trackers. The instruments contained in a file are presented as a graphical tree, with the bank item at the top, instruments as branches, and waveforms as leaves. If you have one of the supported wavetable synthesis sound cards you can just click on an item, and play it directly using a MIDI keyboard or the computer keyboard. If you have just a basic soundcard capable of audio playback, you can use it as a crude (monophonic) synthesizer to get an idea of what it should sound like. Saving an item to any of the supported export formats is as easy as double clicking on the item and selecting export type (even MIDI to WAV is supported!). Sending and receiving MIDI SDS Dumps are also supported for transferring waveforms with professional synthesizers. SMDI is supported for transferring samples across SCSI connections.
There are visual editors for most instrument and waveform parameters like loop points and keymaps. Some audio processing and editing functions are also provided. There is also a nice audio playback control, featuring both realtime oscilloscope and frequency analyzer graphs. It is available from inside the main program as well as integrated into the Windows shell so that you may easily play the sounds of any of the supported file formats wherever you are.
Awave Studio can be used as a "helper app" for your Web browser.
This program was formerly called Awave.
In this newest release, you can copy an paste instruments and collections and transfer samples across SCSI connections using SMDI. A new instrument processing wizard is added and the batch mode audio processing wizards have been enhanced.
Limitations in downloadable version:
This shareware version lets you save files only once before having to restart the program.
