The SOUNDSBIG Media Player is a free multimedia tool that lets you listen to over 50 channels of high-quality streaming music. Although it doesn't offer as many listening choices as the popular Spinner service, we found its audio quality superior on a cable modem connection. Plus, it lets you enjoy audio from your .wav, .mp3, .wma, and .asf files and CDs. CDDB support is built-in, and steaming video is supported. Other features include links to the developer's Website (where you'll find a large selection of MP3s available for free download), plus a chat function that lets you strike up a conversation with people of similar musical interests.
