ZPaint 1.2
----------
ZPaint lets you easily create rectangular 3D shapes with the following
adjustments:
- surface color/texture with opacity
- extrusion depth
- corner radius
- raised/lowered
- area: frame/inner/outer/inner & outer
- edge: bevel/arced
- antialiasing on/off
Open the file "sample.bmp" to see what shapes the combination of these
parameters enables.
To paint a shape, adjust the desired parameters and then click into the
painting area and drag the bounding frame of the shape. If the frame you
drag is too small to contain the adjusted extrusion depth and corner
radius, it will automatically be enlarged. Moreover, if the corner
radius is >0, it's always set to at least the value of extrusion depth.
Example: If you simply click into the painting area without dragging,
and corner radius > 0, the program paints
- a ball in "inner area" mode, if corner radius <= depth
- a ring in "frame" mode, if corner radius > depth
The program does not provide usual image editing functions like brushes,
text output or common graphic file formats. I.e. you will need a
supporting image editor (e.g. PaintShop) for full service. Data transfer
between ZPaint and an image editor is possible via saved bitmap files
and via clipboard.
Example: How to use ZPaint as a simple button maker
- Prepare the button graphic with your image editor and copy it to the
clipboard.
- Start ZPaint and paste the image from the clipboard.
- Adjust the opacity trackbar to zero (left end).
- Adjust the desired depth and 3D contrast.
- Paint the 3D frame around the button. Start drawing at (0,0) and draw
a frame of the same size your button has.
- Click "Copy", paste as new image in your image editor and save it as
GIF or whatever you like.
System Requirements:
Windows 95/98/NT
High Color (True Color recommended)
Screen resolution not less than 800x600
Installation/Deinstallation:
After you have unpacked the ZIP-Archive, ZPaint is ready for use.
If you want to incorporate the program into the Start Menu, it has to be
done manually. To uninstall, simply delete the files. The program does
not change the Windows system directory.
Terms of Use:
The program is Freeware; usage and distribution are free.
