  6. Description
  7. -----------
  8. FinePrint is a printer driver for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0,
  9. and Windows 2000.  FinePrint prints any multi-page document onto fewer
  10. sheets of paper by printing 1, 2, 4, or 8 document pages onto each physical
  11. sheet of paper, while maintaining document integrity and clarity.  FinePrint
  12. also allows you to customize your printouts by adding headers, footers,
  13. and watermarks to your pages.

  78. Installing
  79. ----------
  80. To install FinePrint, run the program FPxxx.EXE (Windows 95/98) or
  81. FPNTxxx.EXE (Windows NT/2000), where "xxx" is the FinePrint version
  82. number.  Then follow the onscreen instructions.

  85. Uninstalling
  86. ------------
  87. In the Start menu, open the Programs folder, then open the FinePrint 2000
  88. folder and select "Uninstall FinePrint."  You may also uninstall FinePrint
  89. in the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs applet.

  179. We are FinePrint Software, a company founded in 1995 by Jonathan
  180. Weiner and Mark O'Brien.  Our mission is to create printing products
  181. that maximize the functionality of existing printing hardware.  Our

  186. Setting Default Paper Size
  187. --------------------------
  188. In many countries the default paper size is A4.  It is possible to set
  189. FinePrint to always use this or other supported sizes by default.  In
  190. the Start menu, open the Settings Printers folder, then right-click on
  191. the FinePrint Driver and select one of the following commands:
  192.     - Properties (Windows 95/98)
  193.     - Document Defaults (Windows NT)
  194.     - Printing Preferences (Windows 2000)
  195.     
  196. This will present you with a list of choices, and you can select A4 or
  197. any other supported paper size as the default.

  200. FinePrint Dispatcher
  201. --------------------
  202. The FinePrint Dispatcher is a program that runs in the background and
  203. manages the flow of print jobs within FinePrint.  The Dispatcher must
  204. be running in order for FinePrint to operate.  If you ever get an error
  205. message about "Could not locate the FinePrint Dispatcher", you can try
  206. re-launching it from the FinePrint program group in the Start menu.  Or,
  207. you can reboot your computer, since the Dispatcher is launched upon
  208. startup.

  211. Registration
  212. ------------
  213. You have downloaded a trial version of FinePrint. If you decide to
  214. use it, registration to the full version costs $39.95. The
  215. registration mechanism we use allows payment by check, credit card,
  216. and electronic payment.  When payment is received, you will be sent a
  217. registration key which you then enter into FinePrint.  Once you have
  218. registered by entering your key, two things will happen:
  219.  
  220. 1. The "unregistered" message printed on each page will be removed
  221. 2. The page limit will be removed
  222.  
  223. Registering entitles you to receive free maintenance upgrades of
  224. FinePrint.  Major new releases will be made available to registered
  225. users at a substantial discount.
  226.  
  227. To register, click the Register tab in the FinePrint window and
  228. then click the Order Form button to fill out an order form.  You can
  229. also click the Register Online button to connect to our registration
  230. page.

  232. After you have registered and receive the serial number, enter it along
  233. with your name in the spaces provided.
