1a=Welcome to Xteq Systems X-Setup, the ultimate tool for tunning your Windows and many other programs to perfection.
1b=To get a quick start, click "Wizards" from the main menu and select a Wizard you would like to use. These Wizards will guide you through the process.
2a=You can always see if the changes you have made require a restart of your computer or that you logoff.
2b=See the small box in the lower-right corner of X-Setup. If it says "RESTART" you need to restart your computer.
2c=If it says "LOGOFF" you only need to logoff to apply the changes.
3=After a plug-in is activated, right-click it and select "Information" to see some information about it.
4=If you think all these warning messages are confusing and you always click them away with YES, see "File" -> "Options" where you can turn these warnings off.
5a=X-Setup has many built-in Wizards that allow you change the settings in a step-by-step process.
5b=Simply select "Wizards" from the menu and have a look.
6a=Xteq Systems offers the FREE "X-Setup SDK" which can be used to create your own plug-ins or wizards.
6b=To find out more, go to http://www.xteq.com.
7=Instead of clicking the "Apply" button (in X-Setup) or the "Next >>" button (in a Wizard) you can also press F9.
8a=Windows has a lot of great (and free) tools built-in.
8b=Simply have a look at the "Tools" menu!
9a=If you install a plug-in you don't trust, activate "Safe Mode" (File - Safe Mode).
9b=In this mode, X-Setup will ask for your permisson before a plug-in or wizard is allowed to change anything.
9c=Please see the help for more information.
10a=Xteq Systems offers a page where additional plug-ins and wizards for X-Setup can be downloaded for free.
10b=Just go to http://www.xteq.com/products/xset/plugs
11a=X-Setup can be your biggest time-saver if you are an admin for a network.
11b=By activating "Record Mode", all changes made through a plug-in or a wizard will be recorded to a .REG file that can be deployed to many computers, without installing X-Setup.
11c=Simply activate record mode, make all the changes you want, stop recording and you have a nice REG file ready for deployment.
11d=Please see the help for more information.
12=If you use the record mode frequently, take a look at the options for this feature in "File" -> "Options".
13=To remove a plug-in you do not need, right-click it and select "Delete" from the appearing menu.
14a=X-Setup generates some cache files in your TEMP folder to allow faster access to plug-ins and wizards.
14b=If you don't want X-Setup to do this, go to "Options" -> "Cache" and turn the cache as needed off.
14b=Please note that this will increase the startup-time of X-Setup!
15a=X-Setup automatically generates a logfile of all plug-ins and wizards that were applied (if not otherwise configured).
15b=This logfile can be very useful if you see something you don't like, but simply don't know what you have changed in the last time.
15c=The file is named XQ_XSET_Logfile.TXT and is stored in your \TEMP folder.
16a=To clear X-Setup's cache files, simply delete all the files from your \TEMP folder to start with a fresh cache, similar to clearing your Web browser cache.
16b=This can be used if you have a problem with your X-Setup cache for any reason, or simply want to start fresh with it.
17a=X-Setup supports many of the most popular Internet Web browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera, and NeoPlanet. To configure these browsers using X-Setup, you can use the "Web Browsers" submenu from the "Wizards" menu or navigate to the "Internet" tree in the plug-ins menu.
