Virtual Drive 2000 gives you an easy way to store CD-ROM images on your computer without having to insert the CD-ROM every time you need to access data. It actually creates a new drive letter that's accessible through Explorer just like any other drive. Simply insert a disc into the drive and click Build VCD. The contents of the CD are transferred to a virtual file that can be compressed to save space. Do this with as many CDs as you want, then choose an image to mount; the image appears as though the CD-ROM is actually in the drive. Today's large hard-drive size makes programs like Virtual Drive the perfect solution for avoiding disk juggling, jukeboxe hardware, and slow CD-ROM speeds. The built-in Rapid Cache Manager optimizes the CD-ROM speed and caching capabilities of the virtual and standard drives. Virtual Drive is easy to use and should be evaluated by anyone who constantly needs to access multiple data and audio CDs, or notebook users who want to avoid dragging CDs around. A network version called Virtual Drive Network Edition is also available in our library.
