NetLab Installation tip
Since some of NetLab files have Windows 95 long file names it is important
that your unzip utility support them. If the archive has been unpacked with
old DOS or Windows 3.x unpacker NetLab installation program might ask you for
installation disk #1. If this occurs please use Windows 95 unzip utility.
Personally I use WinZip which, I think, is one of the best archivators
available today. Check out http://www.winzip.com .
What's new:
Version 1.3.2
1. NetLab.dll has been rewritten to reduce amount of memory needed to run
Ping and Traceroute.
2. Minor updates of the user interface.
Version 1.3.3
1. Ping/Traceroute packet data size range has been increased.
2. NetLab can now find its data files when run from console or command line.
Version 1.3.4
1. "Don't fragment packets" option has been added to Ping.
2. Pint/Traceroute now reports on such events as "Destination unreachable",
"Host unreachable", "Protocol unreachable", "Port unreachable", "Bad route",
"Fragment reassembly timed out", etc.
3. Computer name is now shown in Info tab.
4. "Local host's IP" button has been added to DNS Lookup to obtain local host's
IP address.
Version 1.3.5
1. Ping/Traceroute printing bug fixed.
2. On Windows NT traceroute stopped tracing the route if there was no
response from an intermediate host. That problem has been fixed.
Version 1.3.6
1. Context menu added to Ping/Traceroute. You can now copy IP address
and/or Host name to Finger, WhoIs, Ping, Traceroute, DNS and clipboard
by clicking on item you're interested in with right mouse button and
choosing the destination from a simple context menu.
2. Minor updates of the user interface.
Version 1.3.6
1. Added "Parallel Trace". Now processing hops in traceroute can be done in
parallel instead of consecutively. As a result, Parallel Traceroute works
5-10 times faster than conventional trace.
2. Fixed Run Minimized bug.
3. Port scan range has been extended.
Version 1.4
1. Local Port scan has been replaced by Network Scanner that can be used to
scan a range of IP addresses for host names and/or services.
