Boss Everyware is an innocuous security utility that runs secretly, recording data about computer usage and user work time. It knows which programs the user has been using and when and how long the user has interacted with each piece of software and each window. It also reports visited URLs. The data is written so that it can be easily imported by a database or spreadsheet application, or read by the accompanying management utility. You have the option to encrypt the information, and it's possible to integrate reports from several LAN stations into one report file at run-time. Boss Everyware works so well that it's scary -- you can't just open a couple of programs in the background and play Solitaire all morning to try to fool it. Boss Everyware can also help system administrators to track user actions that may have caused a system failure. It's thorough, easy to use, and has no noticeable impact on system performance.
