  1. Welcome to Milli97(c) version 2.02!
  2.  
  3. Milli97 is a Microsoft Access 97 Add-in that helps make Access
  4. Databases Y2K compliant by automatically adding 4-digit year input
  5. masks and formats to all date fields in forms, reports, tables, and
  6. queries.  It can be run on tables, queries, forms and reports
  7. individually, or all-in-one shot. 
  8.  
  9. Milli97 is currently being distributed as a Shareware program.  
  10. Though it is freely distributable, it's creators would appreciate 
  11. referral to our site http://www.sidusa.com for download, 
  12. and information regarding Milli97 and other products that we make available.

  16. Below are installation and usage instructions.
  17.  
  18. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU BACK-UP YOUR DATABASE (MDB) FILES 
  19. BEFORE RUNNING Milli97(c)  - as SIDUSA SYSTEMS 
  20. AND IT'S CREATORS DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OF THE RESULTS.

  22. Installation:
  23.  
  24. 0. Save and unzip milli97.zip and readme.txt to a directory called c:\Milli97.
  25. 1. Open Microsoft Access 97.
  26. 2. Load a database that you would like to remediate (make sure you back it up first)
  27. 3. Click Tools/Add-ins/Add-in Manager
  28. 4. Click AddNew
  29. 5. Point to the file that you unzipped (Milli97r.mde) and click Open.  
  30.    (You may need to change the files of type to include *.mde files in order to see the file.)
  31. 6. Click Close.
  32. 7. To run Milli97, click tools/add-ins/y2k Remediation
  33.  
  34. The Menu Buttons:
  35.  
  36. Tables - Click Tables to remediate all tables in the current database - All date fields will be given the 4-
  37. digit year input mask and format specified on the defaults page.
  38.  
  39. Queries - Click Queries to remediate all select queries in the current database - All date fields will be 
  40. given the 4-digit year input mask and format specified on the defaults page.
  41.  
  42. Forms - Click Forms to remediate all forms in the current database - All controls linked to date fields will 
  43. be given the 4-digit year input mask and format specified on the defaults page.
  44.  
  45. Reports - Click Reports to remediate all reports in the current database - All controls linked to date fields 
  46. will be given the 4-digit year input mask and format specified on the defaults page.
  47.  
  48. All-in-One - Click All-in-One to remediate all tables, queries, forms and reports in the current database - 
  49. All date fields and controls linked to date fields will be given the 4-digit year input mask and format 
  50. specified on the defaults page.

  53. Upon completion, Milli97(c) stores log files in your database directory with the following extensions:

  55. .00t - tables
  56. .00q - queries
  57. .00f - forms
  58. .00r - reports
  59. .00z - queries not remediated by Milli97(c).
  60.  
  61. Note: Milli97(c) ignores reports and forms with invalid record sources, and also will not work on action 
  62. queries or queries with parameters.
