- <H3>Files Needed to Compose Your Website</H3>
- <P>Once JWeb is installed you need to add .html, .gif and .jpeg files to your
- site. These are the files that define the look and feel of your site. JWeb
- does not assist in the creation of HTML files. JWeb is just a web server. To
- create HTML files you will need a HTML editor. There are many HTML editors to
- choose from. Some examples include Adobe Pagemill, HoTMetaL Pro, Hot Dog, AOL
- Press, Microsoft Front Page, Microsoft Office, and yes even Microsoft Notepad.</P>
- <H3>Where to Save These Files</H3>
- <P>Normally JWeb will install to C:\Program Files\Heat-On Software\JWeb.
- Inside of that directory you will find a WWWRoot folder. Your HTML/GIF/JPEG
- files will be stored in C:\Program Files\Heat-On Software\JWeb. Please note,
- when JWeb was installed, you were given the option of changing where these
- folders are created. If you did, you will need to use the folder specified
- during installation. If you've installed your operating system to a drive other
- than C then these folders will be located on that drive.</P>
- <H3>Starting/Testing Your Website</H3>
- <P>You should create a HTML file called index.html. This is the first file
- that will normally be displayed with someone accesses your web site. Place
- index.html into the WWWRoot. You should be able to see this index.html file now
- when you access your web site. To access your web site you must use a browser.
- This browser can be running on your computer or on another computer. To access
- your site you need to know its address. What your address is depends on how your
- network is setup. <A HREF="address.html">Click here for help on determining your address.</A></P>
- <P><BR><BR><A HREF="about.html">[Back]</A></P></BODY></HTML>
