With DBtoWEB you can automatically create Web pages from data stored in an ODBC database such as Microsoft Access. To let DBtoWEB accomplish its magic, you'll need to create a template file using special tags that indicate how to display your data. REPEAT tags and conditional IF tags allow you to create quite complex pages from your data. Some knowledge of HTML will come in handy, as will a basic understanding of SQL (Structured Query Language) -- although you can also cut-and-paste SQL code from an application such as Access. There's no built-in documentation but you'll find extensive examples on the author's Website. The Web-based help is not particularly clear when it comes to providing a tag reference, but it does include samples you can download and modify for your own use. You'll find the Visual Basic runtimes and Data Access SDK required to run DBtoWEB on the site as well. If you want to get your data on the Web in a static form or want to avoid the complexities of ASP (Active Server Pages), DBtoWEB is a highly useful alternative. The Standard version is free for non-commercial use. There's also a Professional version which offers more flexibility; it's available for 10 pounds Sterling -- a very reasonable price for a very useful tool.
