  1. Ferguson Cole Duplex is a very complicated form
  2. of the duplex, and again it is hard to see that
  3. it haas any advantages. 
  4. The action is that as the balance turns the
  5. locking roller is turned, the arm on the pinion
  6. is released and flies round, and the other arm
  7. is immediately locked. Thus the pinion turns half
  8. a turn and releases 4 leaves, and thus the 4
  9. teeth of the wheel of 60. This means that the
  10. raised tooth gives impulse to the pallet on the
  11. balance.

  13. A - Fourth wheel with each 4th tooth double height.
  14. B - Locking arm.
  15. C - Single pallet.
  16. D - Balance Staff.
  17. E - Wheel fitted on balance staff and wheel fitted
  18.     to arbor carrying ruby roller.
  19. F - Locking or ruby roller.
