  1. The Duplex is a frictional escapement like
  2. the cylinder and the virgule or rather it
  3. is a frictional-rest, but there is also
  4. recoil. The escapement consists of a wheel
  5. with two sets of teeth, one set being
  6. horizontal and the other vertical.

  8. Lubricating - The ruby roller of a duplex
  9. must, however, be very lightly oiled
  10. because the locking tooth is always resting
  11. on this roller. Only a very small amount
  12. should be put in the V-slot.
