  1. Chinese Duplex or Crab Tooth Duplex is a
  2. modification of the duplex in as much as
  3. exactly the same principles ar present, 
  4. the only difference being in the locking
  5. section of the escape wheel; there are
  6. two locking teeth close together instead
  7. of single tooth between each impulse tooth
  8. the idea being to give the impression that
  9. the watch is beating seconds.

  11. If the watch train is of 14,400 vibration
  12. per hour, the seconds hand apparently moves
  13. every second, but if very closely watches
  14. the slow progress and recoiling of the wheel
  15. by the hand until it gets its impulse and
  16. jumps a full second will be noticed.
