BCM Diagnostics for Windows 95 Version 1.01.02

BCM Diagnostics is a Win95 based program which helps you diagnose problems
of your PC running Microsoft Windows 95 operation system. It includes
System Info, Processor Test, Memory Test, Audio Test, Video Test, Modem
Test, Graphics Test, Harddisk Test, Floppy Test, CD-ROM Test, and Stress
Test. It also has a Resource Monitor and shortcuts to Microsoft Mouse,
Joystick, and ScanDisk. BCMDIAG.EXE, the DOS based diagnostics utility,
is also included.
Notes:
1. DOS Diagnostics will not start properly if BCM Diagnostics for Windows
95 is installed in compressed drive.
2. Floppy Test requires a blank floppy disk.
3. CD-ROM Test requires a CD which has one file bigger than 5 MB.
Full-Stroke Access Time test requires a CD with at least 500 MB data
on it.
4. Stress Test requires at least 40 MB free harddisk space. DirectDraw
in Graphics Test is disabled in Stress Test.
5. A link to Hardware System Health Monitor is included. It will work
only if Hardware System Heealth Monitor is installed and the LM78
is present on the system. The setup for Hardware System Health
Monitor is on Disk #4.
6. Installation program supplies an option to install LM78 driver for you.
If you would rather install the driver by yourself, please follow the
steps to install the driver.
To install LM78 driver on Windows 95:
a. Copy HSYSMON.VXD to .\system directory under Windows 95 directory
To install LM78 driver on Windows NT:
From a MS-DOS window:
a. Copy HSMPORT.SYS to .\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory under yours windows
NT directory. (e.g. c:\winnt\system32\drivers\hsmport.sys)
b. run "REGINI HSMPORT.INI".
c. Close all programs and reboot the system.
7. Installation program doesn't check existing installation of BCM Hardware
System Health Monitor. Please uninstall the existing copy before install
a new copy.
To uninstall BCM Diagnostics:
a. Double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon from Control Panel.
b. Select "BCM Diagnostics" entry from the installed software list.
c. Click on "Add/Remove" button.
d. Click on "Yes" button when prompted for confirmation.
To uninstall BCM Hardware System Health Monitor:
a. Double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon from Control Panel.
b. Select "BCM Hardware Monitor" entry from the installed software list.
c. Click on "Add/Remove" button.
d. Click on "Yes" button when prompted for confirmation.
To uninstall LM78 driver on Windows 95:
From a MS-DOS window:
a. Delete .\system\hsysmon.vxd unter Windows 95 directory.
To uninstall LM78 driver on Windows NT:
From a MS-DOS window:
a. Delete .\system32\drivers\hsmport.sys under Windows NT directory.
(e.g. C:\WinNT\system32\drivers\hsmport.sys)
b. Bring up registry editor by type "regedit" and press "Enter".
c. From "Registry Editor", delete the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System
\CurrentControlSet\Services\HsmPort".
d. Close all programs and reboot the system.
