Notes
=====
Users with IE3 can use this application but it requires you update your
common control dll. Visit http://www.microsoft.com/msdn/downloads/files/40Comupd.htm to
download it, or check the ReconMail directory for the 40comupd.exe file and run it.
You will need to get this updated dll if the toolbar looks funny.
HISTORY
=======
v3.3
----
- Printing in mail center
- Resizable mail center and html viewer
- Always on top and 'X' minimizes instead of closes the application
- Includes all the necessary dlls for the application to run (mfc42.dll, msvcrt.dll & msvcp50.dll)
v3.2
----
- fixed the registration bug.
v3.1
----
- fixed the new folder bug
- msvcp50.dll included in archive
v3.0
----
- MIME support for incoming and outgoing mail (decoding and encoding)
- Internal redesign for a more faster stable application
- Misc fixes and improvements
v2.1
----
- Lots of cosmetic fixes to the limited v2.0 release
v2.0
-----
- Added Email Folders. Folders are not 'sticky', meaning their contents
are always dictated by their interaction with filters. You cannot manually
move them yourself. Although you can create, rename and delete folders
- Override option to auto-download the message of the bodies, instead of
just the headers like in previous versions. Once the body of a message
is downloaded it is cached and never retrieved again.
- All Filters can be set to activate during a certain time interval (days only)
- All the filters how have an option to move matching messages to folders
- Spam Filters have been upgraded with more options to either auto-download
bodies or leave bodies behind. This is need in case you like to auto-download
bodies but not bodies of potential spam messages.
- Global Spam Filters only support 3 folders. "Inbox", "Sent" And "Trash". These folders
are default for all email accounts and cannot be renamed or deleted
- Added options to allow you to control the body of the message being
forwarded (Mail Forward filters)
- Options to Always run in maintaince mode has been added. Auto-Maintainance will now only
remove messages that don't have bodies, so that all your saved/sent messages won't be deleted
when you run maintaince
- You can now send a quick message by choosing the "Send Mail" button in the mail menu. Send Mail
shows a list of accounts that you can pick from.
- No more annoying resizing. The window can now remeber where it was last positioned.
- The NT "out of memory" bug has been fixed. I think it had something to do with those without
a dialup entry.
v1.4a
-----
- Cosmetic Fixes
v1.4
-----
- Maintainance Release to update version 1.3a
- Fixed the AutoResponder Hit Count bug
- MailBox now shows correct settings on new mail
- missing "mailread.rcn" installbug fixed
v1.3a
-----
- Fixed a bug that caused the spam filter to keep deleting subsequent messages after the first "hit"
- Updated some of the logo's that were still carrying v1.2 text
v1.3
----
- Added Account Specific and Global Spam Filtering
- Fixed Dialup bug that cause ReconMail to crash if terminated early
- Added Popup Email notification and option to run an external email client
- Modified Filter views to allow user defined tag
- Filters can use either AND or OR in the filtering options, but not both at the same time
- Filters now maintain "hit count" information and can have their email history id's reset
- Added Right Click popup and Fast Forward to multiple accounts
- AutoResponder and Mail Forward Filters can now be set to filter all message.. regardless.
v1.2
----
- Added AutoResponders and Forward Mail to the advanced button for each MailBox
- Included wizards for MailBox Profiles, AutoResponders and Forward Mail
- Ability to disable recon mail, good when you need all the bandwidth esp for games
- Added a simple 'good' versus 'evil' email filter. No Auto deletions
- All outgoing mail is sent in mime format, and you can attach files to replies
- The RAS part has been totally rewritten and now does exactly what the
options say
- Accounts are now identified by email address rather than email servers
This will fix the 'missing' email bug
- The account setup will now save all modified accounts, not just the
active one.. the 'Apply' button is still disabled for various reasons
- The 'View Headers/Intelligence' option now displays email headers without
going back to retrieve the whole message. Now you can view the headers
to determine spam like it was supposed to do
- The URL monitor has been fixed. No more junk urls
v1.1
----
- Added a Utiltily Docking window that shows the session with the pop client.
- Added a URL link monitor to the utility window. It monitors the clipboard for any URL's you
copied
- Checks for the required version of commdlg32.dll
- Font Changes in the Mail Center
- Maintaince option added to rescan your mail box and remove "dead" messages
