IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
Instead of all those madmen our history books are full of,
I wanted to give sort of homage for ordinary people and their work.
I also tried to achieve samekind romantic feeling seen in works of old seascape
painters.
Description of how this image was done: I used arch-schemas of an old german
park ship to make spline cage for skinning.
Thats how I got the basic body of the ship. All the other parts were also
modelled in Imagine, except sailors were imported from Poser.
Sea constructs of two infinitive planes, set very near top of each other. The
upper one is textured as water, bottom one as foam.
Wave texture makes the foamy part cut through in certain parts of the sea.
No mapping of any kind was used. All the surface details are made with Imagines
procedural shaders, many of tham shareware
coded by Ingvar Lybing and Alan Bucior.
