ArchivePro 2000 is a file archiving, searching and restoring utility that works with Zip drives, hard drives, or any device located on the Internet.
ArchivePro allows you to take files or groups of files and store them (either deleting or retaining the originals) on an "archive device". The "archive device" can be a Zip Disk, a CD Writer or a reserved area of a hard drive or something similar. The archive device does not have to be on your PC, although it can be. It can be a device on another PC on your local area network, or even on any system connected via a network or the Internet. ArchivePro compresses the files and keeps track of them, and you can search for them and recall them at any time.
As well as archiving files you can also archive "disk images". You can take a floppy disk, even a bootable one, and archive it on an archive database. Then at any time, from any client (security permissions that you set allowing), you can recreate the disk. This feature is ideal for creating DOS boot disks, driver disks, etc.
ArchivePro works on local devices or device on a LAN, WAN or the Internet. It has its own Explorer-style interface, and it also integrates into the context menu of Windows Explorer.
ArchivePro comes as two programs. The database engine runs on whatever system the archive device you want to use is attached to. The client can be run at any time and allows you to archive files to a particular database, or restore files, or manage volumes.
