Postman Office Edition,
Version 1.0
Postman Personal Edition
Version 2.0
Multiple User, Multiple Account Internet E-mail Software
Now with desktop security, HTML, and spell checking!
======================================================================
Copyright 1998 by Internet Software Design
--------------------------------------
Postman Personal Edition is the second generation of Postman multiple
account email software. Postman uses a simple interface to make the task of
checking mail from multiple accounts easy and painless. New to version 2.0
are HTML, spell checking, and a host of interface and small internal
improvements. Like version 1.3 Postman 2.0 gives the user the option of
password protecting the Postman desktop, so no one can read your mail, even
after it has been downloaded.
Postman Office Edition is an Internet E-mail application for the office
with more employees than PCs, or the environment where more than one
person needs to access email on a single PC. Postman Office Edition allows
an unlimited number of users to have their own email program with complete
security. In addition Postman Office Edition, like the personal version of
Postman, gives each user the ability to send and receive E-mail from
multiple E-mail accounts, and save each account's messages in it's own
folder.
Postman is simple and efficient, saving your time for your email,
not your email program.

A Brief Operational Description
For Postman Personal Edition skip the next paragraph. Other than the
multiuser login screen both programs are identical.
To Use Postman Office Edition you must first create a new user.
From the log in screen click New User. After filling in the requested
Information you will be ready to log in to Postman. Your Postman
configuration settings, Email account information, and your email
messages are secured by your password, so no other users of the program
can look at your mail. Even though Postman Office Edition is multi-
user, your information is completely private.
After you have logged in to Postman you are ready to begin.
Postman functions much like other E-mail programs, except that it
will store the information for many different E-mail accounts and
allow you to retrieve the mail from any or all of those accounts
with the click of a single button. Messages are downloaded and
stored in a folder with the name of that account. They may then
be moved about to other folders as needed.
To setup your accounts, go to the "Options - Accounts" menu.
Enter the appropriate data into the boxes and hit the "Save" button.
You may enter as many accounts as you like. By default Postman will
delete the messages from the Internet mail server after retrieving
them. If you want to leave them on the server click on the check box
"Delete message from server after downloading." to remove the check.
If you wish to add a signature file you may select any pre-existing
text file using "Browse" or create a new one with the "Create" button.
To select the accounts you want to check for mail, click on the magnet
icon on the toolbar, then click on the account name. The "Get Mail"
button will begin the retrieval process. You can also click on the
mail slot icon on the toolbar to retrieve the most recently selected
accounts.
Any messages you delete are moved to the Postman trash folder. You can
recover messages deleted by mistake by opening the trash folder using
the "Folders:" combo box and moving the message out of the trash with
either a right click or selecting "Move" from the Message menu. Emptying
the Trash from the file menu permanently deletes all the messages in the
Trash folder.
Right clicking on a message brings up a menu. The "Priority Flags" item will
change the message's icon so that you may mark a message for your future
attention.
Clicking on any web link (http://...) in a message will open your
default web browser and send it to that link.
When you are done you can exit Postman, or log out by selectin File, Log Out
which will return you to the mail log in screen, leaving Postman ready for the
next user.
