  10.     BCM Diagnostics is a Win95 based program which helps you diagnose problems
  11.     of your PC running Microsoft Windows 95 operation system.  It includes
  12.     System Info, Processor Test, Memory Test, Audio Test, Video Test, Modem
  13.     Test, Graphics Test, Harddisk Test, Floppy Test, CD-ROM Test, and Stress
  14.     Test.  It also has a Resource Monitor and shortcuts to Microsoft Mouse,
  15.     Joystick, and ScanDisk.  BCMDIAG.EXE, the DOS based diagnostics utility,
  16.     is also included.

  18.     Notes:
  19.  
  20.     1. DOS Diagnostics will not start properly if BCM Diagnostics for Windows
  21.        95 is installed in compressed drive.
  22.     2. Floppy Test requires a blank floppy disk.
  23.     3. CD-ROM Test requires a CD which has one file bigger than 5 MB.
  24.        Full-Stroke Access Time test requires a CD with at least 500 MB data
  25.        on it.
  26.     4. Stress Test requires at least 40 MB free harddisk space.  DirectDraw
  27.        in Graphics Test is disabled in Stress Test.
  28.     5. A link to Hardware System Health Monitor is included.  It will work
  29.        only if Hardware System Heealth Monitor is installed and the LM78
  30.        is present on the system.  The setup for Hardware System Health
  31.        Monitor is on Disk #4.
  32.  
  33.     6. Installation program supplies an option to install LM78 driver for you.
  34.        If you would rather install the driver by yourself, please follow the
  35.        steps to install the driver.
  36.  
  37.        To install LM78 driver on Windows 95:
  38.  
  39.           a. Copy HSYSMON.VXD to .\system directory under Windows 95 directory
  40.  
  41.        To install LM78 driver on Windows NT:
  42.  
  43.           From a MS-DOS window:
  44.           a. Copy HSMPORT.SYS to .\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory under yours windows
  45.              NT directory.  (e.g. c:\winnt\system32\drivers\hsmport.sys)
  46.  
  47.           b. run "REGINI HSMPORT.INI".
  48.  
  49.           c. Close all programs and reboot the system.
  50.  
  51.     7. Installation program doesn't check existing installation of BCM Hardware
  52.        System Health Monitor. Please uninstall the existing copy before install
  53.        a new copy.

  55.        To uninstall BCM Diagnostics:
  56.  
  57.           a. Double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon from Control Panel.
  58.  
  59.           b. Select "BCM Diagnostics" entry from the installed software list.
  60.  
  61.           c. Click on "Add/Remove" button.
  62.  
  63.           d. Click on "Yes" button when prompted for confirmation.

  66.        To uninstall BCM Hardware System Health Monitor:

  68.           a. Double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon from Control Panel.
  69.  
  70.           b. Select "BCM Hardware Monitor" entry from the installed software list.

  72.           c. Click on "Add/Remove" button.

  74.           d. Click on "Yes" button when prompted for confirmation.

  77.        To uninstall LM78 driver on Windows 95:

  79.           From a MS-DOS window:
  80.           a. Delete .\system\hsysmon.vxd unter Windows 95 directory.

  82.        To uninstall LM78 driver on Windows NT:

  84.           From a MS-DOS window:
  85.           a. Delete .\system32\drivers\hsmport.sys under Windows NT directory.
  86.              (e.g. C:\WinNT\system32\drivers\hsmport.sys)

  88.           b. Bring up registry editor by type "regedit" and press "Enter".
  89.  
  90.           c. From "Registry Editor", delete the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System
  91.              \CurrentControlSet\Services\HsmPort".

  93.           d. Close all programs and reboot the system.
