AxMan v3.00 (Official Release) --
-------------------------------------------------
AxMan is a Win95/98/WinNT application that can split any file into pieces.
AxMan takes care of all of the overhead of cutting a file into pieces:
- Splits the file into pieces
- Writes them anywhere you want
- Restores the file from anywhere
- Restores the file to anywhere you want
If you have any questions, please send e-mail to support@mosaicware.com.
License
------------
Please read the accompanying License.txt file before using this program.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
----------------
Please be aware that files split with AxMan 3.00 can only be restored
with AxMan 3.00 or future versions. This is because it was necessary
to make an axman file format change to support file sizes greater than
4.2 Gb. AxMan 3.00 is fully backward compatible, however, and can
restore files split with any previous version.
REGISTRATION
------------
AxMan costs just $15 (U.S.)* to register, Registering AxMan entitles you to
free bug fixes, new minor releases, along with automatic notification (via
email only) when these are available. AxMan v3.00 has no feature limitations,
but does implement a 30 day trial evaluation time limit. It also, includes one
of those annoying nag screens reminding you that you are using an unregistered
version.
Included with this version of AxMan, is AxManRestore, which is a restore-only
version of AxMan. AxManRestore is considered to be a free product which you
automatically obtain the rights to, and which you may freely distribute
to others.

taken the time to send in bugs, comments, or suggestions. It is these

Also, we are indebted to the Info-Zip group. AxMan incorporates
compression code from the Info-ZIP group. There are no extra charges or
costs due to the use of this code, and the original compression sources are
freely available from http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/ or
ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/ on the Internet. We will also, upon request,
mail you the Info-Zip sources if you send a self-addressed stamped envelope to

AxMan Features
------------
- AxMan can split any file, regardless of type, size or long filename.
- AxMan can zip and unzip files
- AxMan can split multiple files either as single zipped file or individually
in batch mode
- AxMan can automatically write the split file pieces to a floppy disk. There is
no need to run AxMan and then copy the pieces to floppy disks manually.
- AxMan does not require that the disks be empty. Unlike Microsoft Backup
and other utilities, AxMan does not require that the disks that it is
splitting the file to be empty. Instead, AxMan will fit as much onto
each disk as it can.
- AxMan supports drag 'n drop operations
- AxMan can split to predefined sizes
- AxMan can re-create any single piece of a split set
- AxMan can include a restore version (AxManRestore.exe) when splitting that
will restore the split files without AxMan being installed.
- AxMan can calculate a checksum for each piece to guarantee the integrity
of all AxMan files.
- AxMan restores the file for you.
- AxMan if fully customizable.
- AxMan can split files into any size pieces.
- AxMan can analyze existing ".axman" files.
- AxMan allows for a "right-click" in Explorer on a file to "send to"
AxMan for splitting.
- AxMan registers its ".axman" file extension so you can "double-click" on
an existing ".axman" split file in Explorer to start the restore procedure.
- Simple and easy to use graphical interface.
- AxMan can automatically remove the files being split or restored.
- AxMan can prompt to format all the floppy disks that it writes to
- AxMan can split the file into "Non-AxMan" format pieces. This allows
users to restore the pieces on Non Windows 95/NT platforms. Ex. DOS
users can restore using "copy /B" and Unix users can restore using "cat".
This option will also minimize on disk space used. AxMan can restore
this split type, however, remember, when splitting to non-AxMan format,
AxMan will not be able to verify that pieces are being put together
in the correct order, how many pieces there are total, etc.
- AxMan can write a batch file to restore the file when the "Non-AxMan"
split option is chosen.
- AxMan can generate 8.3 compliant file names when splittin to Non-AxMan
format
- AxMan has full keyboard support
Installation
----------------------
AxMan v3.00 comes with full installation and deinstallation support.
To install AxMan, simply unzip the package (which you had to do to read this
file), and run the install.exe. That's it! To uninstall, select Start Menu,
then Settings, then Control Panel, then add/remove Programs, then AxMan.
That's it!

Please do not assume someone else will report it. We will try to resolve
reported bugs as quickly as possible. However, we can't resolve bugs that

Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible. In your
e-mail message, please include the following information:
- the version of AxMan (as shown in the About dialog box)
- the error message you received (if any)
* the error number reported in the title of the message box
(should read as "AxMan - Error ###")

* - Most important
Note that if a disk that contains a ".axman" file becomes corrupt, there
is nothing we can do to help you recover/restore the file. Instead you
may want to check into some of the many popular disk utilities.

on how we may improve the product, let us know. There is a very good
chance that it will be added in the next version.
