1. What is Turbo-Edit 97?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Turbo-Edit 97 is designed to provide the power and functionality to satisfy
the most demanding text editing requirements.
Turbo-Edit 97 requires Windows 95 or later to run.
----------------
ñ Key Features ñ
----------------
- Turbo-Edit 97 can open as many files at a time as you want (even
if they are multi-megabyte files) using a tabbed interface.
- Configurable syntax highlighting for Assembly, Basic, C++, HTML, Ini,
Inf, Java and Pascal files.
- Multi-level undo and redo.
- Bookmarks. You can set up to 10 bookmarks by using the right mouse
button Pop-up menu or the short-cut [Ctrl+Shift+0..9] (number between 0
and 9). You can also jump to bookmarks by using the short-cut [Ctrl+0..9].
- Pop-up menus with right mouse button.
- You change between the open files by clicking on their tabs or use the
shortcuts Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab or Ctrl+PageDown and Ctrl+PageUp.
- Save State of Open Documents.
- If you run Turbo-Edit 97 again when their is already an instance
running, the file(s) you wish to edit will be opened by the existing
Turbo-Edit 97 window.
This means there will be at most one Turbo-Edit 97 window open,
which will save you from a lot of task switching.
- Smarter hot keys.
- Accepts file names passed as command-line parameters to the program.
(and so can be used to replace NOTEPAD or other editors that are
called up from a file manager by clicking on a file).
- Open files by drag-and-dropping them from File Manager or Explorer.
- Can read and write files in DOS ASCII, UNIX and Macintosh format
(with auto detect for UNIX/Mac files).
- The editor detects when an open file has been modified by another tool,
and prompts you to reopen it.
- The editor can restore its size and position on the desktop from
a previous session.
- Fonts & colors user-definable.
- If you wish, the Turbo-Edit 97 window stays on top of all other windows.
- Functions to change case, insert a file in the current text, etc.
- Reopen menu that lists the last files opened.
- Configure the open and save dialog file filters.
- Goto Line Number.
- Easy and working installation and uninstallation (see below).
- And lots more...
This program was developed using Delphi 2.0 and is a 100% 32-bit compiled
Win32 executable, no run-time libraries are necessary to run it
(except for LEdit32.dll included with Turbo-Edit 97).
I hope you'll enjoy this program, and would like as much feedback as
possible.
