  7. Please read this document carefully; it contains important information
  8. about Norton CrashGuard. Topics include:

  16. CrashGuard 3.02 has better support for far-Eastern languages, such as
  17. Japanese.  This release fixes a lock-up which occurred intermittently
  18. when starting some computers.

  20. Deleting CrashGuard
  21. -------------------
  22. Use the Add/Remove programs feature in the Windows Control Panel to 
  23. completely remove CrashGuard from your system. If you do not completely 
  24. remove CrashGuard, your computer might not report program errors if 
  25. it expects CrashGuard to handle them. The system might suspend the 
  26. program until you use Ctrl+Alt+Del to close it. To correct this problem, 
  27. use the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE) to delete this key from the 
  28. registry (if it exists):

  30. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\aeDebug

  32. To use REGEDIT.EXE, select Run in the Start menu. Then type REGEDIT.EXE 
  33. in the Command Line text box. Navigate through the path listed above and 
  34. delete the aeDebug key.  (The aeDebug key appears in the left pane of 
  35. the Registry Editor window.  It resembles a folder.)

  38. Disabling CrashGuard's Crash Protection
  39. ---------------------------------------
  40. When you turn off CrashGuard, it must continue to provide protection to 
  41. any program which has previously crashed but has not closed yet.  Even
  42. so, CrashGuard disconnects from the system when you turn it off, so it
  43. won't catch new crashes in other programs.
