  9. This license applies to the registered version of WinZip.  If you
  10. are using an evaluation version of WinZip, see the section titled
  11. titled "Evaluation License" below.

  13. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  14. before using this software.  Unless you have a different license
  15. agreement signed by Nico Mak Computing, Inc. your use of this
  16. software indicates your acceptance of this license agreement and
  17. warranty.

  19. Registered Version
  20.  
  21. One registered copy of WinZip may either be used by a single
  22. person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
  23. or installed on a single workstation used nonsimultaneously by
  24. multiple people, but not both.
  25.  
  26. You may access the registered version of WinZip through a network,
  27. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
  28. software covering all workstations that will access the software
  29. through the network.  For instance, if 8 different workstations
  30. will access WinZip on the network, each workstation must have its
  31. own WinZip license, regardless of whether they use WinZip at
  32. different times or concurrently.

  34. WinZip Self-Extractor Personal Edition, included with WinZip, may
  35. be used at workstations licensed to use the registered version of
  36. WinZip to create an unlimited number of freely distributable
  37. royalty-free self-extracting ZIP files.  Self-extracting ZIP files
  38. created by WinZip Self-Extractor Personal Edition contain, among
  39. other things, a portion of WinZip Self-Extractor, including
  40. copyrighted software, proprietary notices, and identifying
  41. information (the "Extraction Software").  No registered user may
  42. alter or modify the Extraction Software.  You cannot give anyone
  43. else permission to modify the Extraction Software.

  45. Governing Law

  47. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  48. Connecticut.

  50. Disclaimer of Warranty

  52. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND
  53. WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OR MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY
  54. OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular,
  55. there is no warranty for the optional virus scanning feature
  56. (WinZip does not scan for viruses, it simply runs external
  57. programs that claim to perform this function).  Because of the
  58. various hardware and software environments into which WinZip may
  59. be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  60. OFFERED.

  63. thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it.

  82. This is not free software.  Subject to the terms below, you are
  83. hereby licensed to use this software for evaluation purposes
  84. without charge for a period of 21 days.  If you use this software
  85. after the 21 day evaluation period a registration fee of $29 is
  86. required.  Payments must be in US dollars drawn on a US bank, and
  87. should be sent to Nico Mak Computing, Inc., P.O. Box 540,
  88. Mansfield, CT 06268.  Credit card ordering and quantity discounts
  89. are available, as described in the file ORDER.TXT.  When payment
  90. is received you will be sent a registered copy of the latest
  91. version of WinZip.

  93. Self-extracting ZIP files created by WinZip Self-Extractor
  94. Personal Edition (distributed as part of the WinZip evaluation
  95. package) contain, among other things, a portion of WinZip Self-
  96. Extractor, including copyrighted software, proprietary notices,
  97. and identifying information (the "Extraction Software").  You may
  98. not alter or modify the Extraction Software and cannot give anyone
  99. else permission to modify the Extraction Software.  UNDER NO
  100. CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU LICENSED TO DISTRIBUTE SELF-EXTRACTING ZIP

  139. unmodified form via electronic means.  There is no charge for any
  140. of the above.

  143. donations, for any such copies, however made; and from
