WETRIX
Wetrix is a computer game that is so beautifully simple, compulsive, compelling,
addictive and absorbing that words do not do it any justice at all.
So we wonÆt bother. Just get it, play it, and youÆll know exactly what I mean.
But this is a press release so I should at least make an effort! Here goes.....
Wetrix is a 3D puzzle game with a central concept so simple that it's instantly
addictive. Random 3D shapes drop onto a flat, isometrically viewed, square surface.
These shapes, or building blocks, must be used to construct pools, channels and
dams so that you can collect the water balloons that also fall. Now, when the
fireballs begin to drop, you can use them to evaporate the water youÆve collected.
The more water you evaporate, the more you score - simple isnÆt it?
Well it would be if it werenÆt for those pesky bombs that fall and those earthquakes
that erupt and those other players that try to foil your efforts, and the rainbows? -
DonÆt talk to me about rainbows!
Wetrix is a puzzle game that anyone can play and we challenge you not to get
hooked. However, Wetrix isn't a totally unique phenomenon. Its predecessors:
Tetris, the Rubiks Cube, Marbles, Lego (the list goes on) are linked by simple ideas
that capture the imagination and drive the will to get involved, the will to play.
Created, almost by accident, by Manchester based developers, Zed Two, Wetrix will
be published by Ocean Software.
