  28. 1.0  PRODUCT LICENSE AGREEMENT

  30. THIS IS AN EVALUATION COPY OF THE SOFTWARE. YOU MAY ONLY
  31. USE THE SOFTWARE FOR THIRTY DAYS.

  33. After thirty days, you must either buy the software 
  34. from McAfee Associates, Inc. or remove it from your 
  35. computer and stop using it. If you are evaluating 
  36. the software for corporate use and need longer than 
  37. thirty days, please contact McAfee to arrange
  38. an extended evaluation.

  40. THERE ARE NO WARRANTY RIGHTS GRANTED TO YOU REGARDING

  62. 1.  LICENSE GRANT. McAfee Associates, Inc. ("McAFEE") grants 
  63.     to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use 
  64.     the SOFTWARE for thirty (30) days for the purpose of 
  65.     your evaluation of the SOFTWARE. This license to use 
  66.     the SOFTWARE is conditioned upon your compliance with 
  67.     the terms of this license agreement. You agree you will 
  68.     only copy the SOFTWARE into any machine-readable or 
  69.     printed form as necessary to use it in accordance with 
  70.     this license or for backup purposes in support of your 
  71.     use of the SOFTWARE. You may:

  73.       (i) UPLOAD THIS SOFTWARE TO ANY ELECTRONIC BULLETIN
  74.           BOARD OR
  75.       (ii) DEMONSTRATE THE SOFTWARE AND ITS CAPABILITIES.

  82.     This license is effective until the thirtieth (30th)
  83.     day following the date you installed the SOFTWARE.

  86.     the current registration fee. You may terminate this 
  87.     agreement at any point by destroying the SOFTWARE 
  88.     together with all copies of the SOFTWARE. Also, McAFEE 
  89.     has the option to terminate if you fail to comply with
  90.     any term or condition of this agreement. You agree
  91.     upon such termination to destroy the SOFTWARE
  92.     together with all copies of the SOFTWARE.

  94. 2.  COPYRIGHT. The SOFTWARE is protected by United States 
  95.     copyright law and international treaty provisions.
  96.     You acknowledge that no title to the intellectual
  97.     property in the SOFTWARE is transferred to you. You
  98.     further acknowledge that title and full ownership
  99.     rights to the SOFTWARE will remain the exclusive
  100.     property of McAFEE or its suppliers, and you will not
  101.     acquire any rights to the SOFTWARE except as expressly
  102.     set forth in this license. You agree that any copies
  103.     of the SOFTWARE will contain the same proprietary
  104.     notices which appear on and in the SOFTWARE.

  106. 3.  REVERSE ENGINEERING. You agree that you will not
  107.     attempt to reverse compile, modify, translate, or
  108.     disassemble the SOFTWARE in whole or in part.

  110. 4.  WARRANTY RIGHTS. As this is an evaluation copy,
  111.     McAFEE makes NO WARRANTIES with respect to the
  112.     SOFTWARE. The SOFTWARE is distributed to you AS
  113.     IS, WHERE IS, AND WITH ALL FAULTS. In the event of
  114.     registration, McAFEE will grant you certain warranty
  115.     rights.

  117. 5.  NO OTHER WARRANTIES. McAFEE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE

  138. 7.  NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT
  139.     SHALL McAFEE OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR
  140.     ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR INDIRECT
  141.     DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF THE DELIVERY,
  142.     PERFORMANCE, OR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF McAFEE HAS
  143.     BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN
  144.     NO EVENT WILL McAFEE'S LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM,
  145.     WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY OF

  148. 8.  GOVERNING LAW. This license will be governed by the
  149.     internal laws of the State of California. The United
  150.     Nations Convention on Contracts for the International
  151.     Sale of Goods is specifically disclaimed.

  153. 9.  ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This is the entire agreement between
  154.     you and McAFEE, which supersedes any prior agreement
  155.     or understanding, whether written or oral, relating
  156.     to the subject matter of this license.

  158. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS
  159. Any distribution or license of the SOFTWARE to the U. S.
  160. Government or its agencies or instrumentalities
  161. (the "GOVERNMENT") is made only with RESTRICTED RIGHTS.
  162. Use, duplication, or disclosure by the GOVERNMENT
  163. is subject to restriction as set forth in subparagraph
  164. (c) (1) (ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer
  165. Software clause at DFAR 252.227-7013, or as set forth
  166. in the particular department or agency regulations or
  167. rules that provide McAFEE protection equivalent to or

  399. Before you install a McAfee product that you've downloaded
  400. from an online service, you'll want to verify that the 
  401. files you downloaded are exactly the same as when we 
  402. posted them online. We recommend you perform this task 
  403. for maximum anti-virus protection. Read the following 
  404. paragraphs to learn how to validate your file.
  405.  
  406. Included in the files you downloaded is the Validate 
  407. program. Validate is a file-authentication program 
  408. that you can use to check program files for signs of 
  409. tampering. Validate uses two methods of generating Cyclic 
  410. Redundancy Checks (CRCs), and then displays the information 
  411. so you can compare these statistics against the "known 
  412. value" for the program files. The dual CRC checking provides 
  413. a high degree of security. The known value you use for 
  414. validation usually is provided by the author of the program, 
  415. or you may receive it from a trusted information database. 
  416. You can find the statistics for this McAfee product in the 
  417. file PACKING.LST.
  418.  
  419. To confirm that a program file has not been tampered with, run 
  420. the Validate program and record the validation data produced.
  421. Compare this data against the file statistics the program 
  422. author has specified. If the information matches, most likely 
  423. the program has not been modified since the files were 
  424. placed online.

  426. To run Validate, enter the following command:

  430. where <pathspec> is the name of a directory and file. The
  431. wildcard characters * and ? can be used when specifying
  432. <pathspec>.
