  2.      Welcome to Weierheiser Concepts Graliens Game Installation Program

  5.                        THIS IS ONLY A DEMO - NOT FOR SALE
  6.         
  7.         There are a few things that you should know about this software
  8.         before you install it. 
  9.  
  10.       ********This is a DOS program and WILL NOT run from WINDOWS********
  11.

  14. System Requirements:    Minimum 386-40Mhz (486-66Mhz recommended)
  15.                         3 Megabytes Free Hard Drive Space
  16.                         4 Megabytes of RAM
  17.                         590K Free Processor Memory
  18.                         Mouse or Joystick
  19.                         Sound Card 
  20.                         256 color VGA graphics (320x200 min)
  21.                         DOS 5.0 or better

  24. Most Importantly:       The very most common problem found with 
  25.                         running this software on most machines 
  26.                         is the BASE PROCESSOR MEMORY.
  27.  
  28.                         You will need every bit of 590K free on
  29.                         your processor.
  30.  
  31.                         Q: How do I find out how much I have on
  32.                            my processor.
  33.  
  34.                         A: Leave this installation program by 
  35.                            pressing "ESC" and then answering
  36.                            "N" to the shall we continue question.
  37.  
  38.                            You should be at the DOS prompt. If you
  39.                            are not, and you are trying to install
  40.                            this program through WINDOWS, you must
  41.                            first exit and return to DOS. 
  42.  
  43.                            Then type at the prompt " MEM/C/P ".
  44.                            This will give you all the TSR's or
  45.                            TERMINAL STAY RESIDENT programs loaded
  46.                            into your processor. You will also see
  47.                            a message saying - Largest Executable
  48.                            Progam  "590K".
  49.  
  50.                            If the number after Largest Executable
  51.                            Program is less than 590K then Graliens 
  52.                            will not run.
  53.                           
  54.         Now What ?
  55.                         Okay, it's not the end of the world. You just
  56.                         need to do one of two things. The first option
  57.                         is for the experienced DOS user and should be
  58.                         bypassed by the novice !  If you don't know 
  59.                         what you're really doing in DOS then go to 
  60.                         the second option !
  61.  
  62.                Option   1) You can run a DOS program called MEMMAKER
  63.                            if you are an experienced DOS user.  If you
  64.                            are not, please do not try this.  You may 
  65.                            make the wrong selections and end up trashing
  66.                            your system.

  68.                            If you are an experienced DOS user do as follows.
  69.  
  70.                            A) Return to the DOS prompt.
  71.                            B) Type "MEMMAKER" and press "ENTER"
  72.                            C) Chose Custom Set-up
  73.                            D) You will want to use EMS
  74.                            E) Give your Windows directory if you
  75.                               have it on your system.
  76.                            F) At this point you will be on a 
  77.                               screen with six different options.
  78.                               The ones you will want to answer yes
  79.                               to are - Use the Upper Memory Blocks
  80.                               for running programs - Use the Monocrome
  81.                               Region for running programs. The bottom 
  82.                               two are already answered yes by default.
  83.                               Leave them alone.
  84.                            G) Press enter and MEMMAKER will begin to
  85.                               the rest. You will have to answer a few
  86.                               yes or no questions along the way. Just 
  87.                               give the obvious answer and everything 
  88.                               will be fine.
  89.                            H) After MEMMAKER is finished you will be 
  90.                               presented with a comparison of what you 
  91.                               had before and after. This is the big
  92.                               shakedown. On the Top of the AFTER side
  93.                               of the screen it should read at the very 
  94.                               least, 590K.

  96.                            ****NOTE****
  97.                            IF YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR SYSTEM AND UNDERSTAND
  98.                            WHAT A TSR IS AND YOU STILL DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH
  99.                            BASE MEMORY YOU CAN RUN MEMMAKER AGAIN AND
  100.                            ANSWER YES TO SPECIFY WHICH TSR'S TO INCLUDE.
  101.                            I MUST WARN YOU THOUGH, IF YOU CHOSE TO EXCLUDE
  102.                            THE WRONG TSR'S YOU COULD TRASH YOUR AUTOEXEC.BAT
  103.                            AND CONFIG.SYS FILES. HERE IS A LIST OF SAFE TSR'S
  104.                            TO EXCLUDE BELOW.

  106.                            1) DIAGNOSTIC PROGRAMS
  107.                            2) DOSKEY
  108.                            3) VOLUME CONTROL
  109.                            4) SCREEN UTILITIES
  110.                            5) SCREEN CAPTURE
  111.                            6) MUSIC CD UTILTY ( NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH
  112.                                                 MSCDEX OR ANY OTHER CD
  113.                                                 DRIVERS )
  114.                            7) ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAMS

  117.               Option    2) If you're reading this section either 
  118.                            MEMMAKER has failed to perform to your
  119.                            needs or you are ready to take the easy 
  120.                            way out.  This is the most simple yet 
  121.                            annoying cure for the memory requirement 
  122.                            problem.

  124.                            A) Go ahead and install the software on 
  125.                               your machine.
  126.  
  127.                            B) Then try running the program. 
  128.  
  129.                            C) If you do not have enough BASE MEMORY
  130.                               a blue screen will appear with four
  131.                               options. Chose the one that says make
  132.                               a bootable floppy.
  133.  
  134.                            D) The program will explain itself from
  135.                               there. Just follow the simple steps
  136.                               and everything will be fine.

  140. I Don't Have A Memory Problem:

  142.                         If you know for a fact that you do not have
  143.                         a memory problem,.... THAT'S GREAT !
  144.                         Install the game and have fun.
