  5. You will start out most Warlords 3 games by getting a hero.
  6. Heroes are a very important part of the game.  As well as being
  7. a tough unit in their own right, they provide bonuses for the
  8. armies fighting with them.

  11. Heroes have different classes.  Your first hero in this Scenario 
  12. is a Warrior, but your next
  13. hero may be a Priest, a Paladin, or one of the many other classes
  14. available.

  17. Your first hero is free.  Any subsequent heroes will only join you for
  18. money - LOTS of money.  So if you want another hero, try to save about 
  19. 1,000gp.

  22. As he conquers and explores, your hero will gain levels.  More on that
  23. later.  For now just 'Accept' your hero.
