  1. Please read the installation instructions through each step carefully.
  2.                     It is recommended to print these instructions before continuing.
  3.  
  4.                     1. Click on the "Download ICQ" link. Select a download site if necessary.
  5.                     Your Internet browser may show a Dialog Box prompting you to open or save
  6.                     to disk. Choose the Save It To Disk option. Your browser will then ask you
  7.                     for a destination directory. Choose to install it on your desktop.

  9.                     2. After the download is completed, close your Internet browser.

  11.                     3. On your desktop, the installation icon will be labeled icqsetup.exe or
  12.                     icqsetupnomfc.exe. Make sure you are still connected to the Internet and
  13.                     double click on the icon to start the installation procedure.

  15.                     4. If you couldn't find the file on the desktop and/or you were not prompted to
  16.                     save the file, then please goto the windows "start" button, choose "find" and
  17.                     then "files or folders". In the dialog box please type icqsetup*.exe in the
  18.                     "named" text area. Then choose the find now button. The system is now being
  19.                     searched. Please be patient, if the system finds the file type specified it will list it
  20.                     in a windows below the find dialog box. If you see the file icqsetup.exe or
  21.                     icqsetupnomfc.exe then double click it and proceed to step 5. If you don't see
  22.                     such a file go back to step 1.

  24.                     5. Follow the installation instructions. After the installation procedure is done,
  25.                     ICQ will launch the Registration Wizard.

  27.                     6. Follow the on-screen instructions of the Registration Wizard. If you
  28.                     encounter any problems during the registration process, please view our
  29.                     troubleshooting page.

  31.                     7. After registration is completed you may delete the icqsetup.exe or the
  32.                     icqsetupnomfc.exe from your hard drive by right clicking this file and selecting
  33.                     delete from the menu.
