  32. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  44. INSTALLATION
  45.  
  46.   To install HoverRace you need to unzip the HoverRace package to a
  47.   temporary folder. From there you just need to run the Setup program.
  48.  
  49.   If you already have an older HoverRace program installed on your
  50.   computer,  it is recommended that you remove it first. HoverRace 
  51.   can be unstalled by running the "Unistall HoverRace" command located 
  52.   in the HoverRace folder.

  55.   *** WARNING to the BETA testers ***

  57.   You need to delete all the tracks of the BETA version, they are 
  58.   incompatible with this new version.  You must recompile them to be 
  59.   able to use them again.

  63. STARTING HOVERRACE

  65.   You can run HoveRace from your Windows START menu. Just click on the 
  66.   HoverRace icon in the HoverRace folder.

  69. PLAYING ON THE INTERNET

  71.   Just need to press F2 in the game and you will be automatically
  72.   connected to our FREE players matching service.

  74.   You should try the INTERNET mode to enjoy this game at the maximum.

  85.    "Press SHIFT to advance"
  86.        In HoverRace the default key to make your HoverCraft mode if 
  87.        the SHIFT key. The UP arrow is used for jumping.

  90.    "Do not get discouraged if you do not drive well at first"

  92.        Driving an HoverCraft is not a complex task but it require 
  93.        some dexterity. After 15 minutes of practice you will be 
  94.        able to drive the HoverCraft like an pro.

  97.    "HoverCraft can be controlled while they not touch ground"

  99.        This is very useful to avoid to fall down in a trap when 
  100.        jumping.

  107. COMMON ERRORS

  109.   "ddraw.dll not found"
  110.  
  111.       You need to install DirectX on your system. Most new games will 
  112.       soon use DirectX so it is a good idea to install it now. You can 
  113.       found Direct X on GrokkSoft site:

  117.   "dsound.dll not found"
  118.  
  119.       Usually this mean that DirectX have not been correctly installed.
  120.       You must install the DirectSound component to be able to play 
  121.       HoverRace. This component must be installed even if you have no 
  122.       sound card on your system.

  124.       You need to reinstall DirectX on your system. Most new games will 
  125.       soon use DirectX so it is a good idea to install it now. You can

  134.        If you have a SB32AWE sound card you should not use the new 
  135.        drivers provided by CreativeLab. They are incompatible with 
  136.        DirectSound. You should use drivers provided with Windows or
  137.        the original drivers that comes with your sound card.

  140.   "I only see a gray screen when I start a game"
  141.  
  142.        Try to switch to full screen by pressing F8 or F9(try both) when 
  143.        the game is started.

  148.        Try to increase the resolution. You can resize the window or you 
  149.        can choose a higher resolution in the "Setting" menu.

  152.   "Refresh rate is too slow"

  154.        Try to reduce screen resolution. You can either select the 
  155.        320x200 display mode by pressing F8 or you can reduce displayable 
  156.        area with the minus"-" key.
