  27. This file contains last-minute updates that are not found in the User's 
  28. Guide or in any addendum accompanying the display adapter.  Please read 
  29. this file before proceeding with the installation.

  40. 3.0     Installation Notes for Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver 
  41.  
  42. The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is a Windows 95 mini driver.  
  43. It is installed and configured using the standard Windows 95 configuration 
  44. utilities.

  46. Note: Windows 95 will require a re-start to implement certain display 
  47.       settings 
  48.  
  49. 1) Start Windows 95. 
  50.  
  51. 2) Insert the disk labelled Windows 95 into a floppy drive.
  52.  
  53. 3) Click on the Start button. Click on the Run menu item. 
  54.    Type A:\WIN95\SETUP.EXE in the text entry area. Press OK.

  56. 4) Follow the instructions displayed in the help.

  61. 4.0     Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver problems 
  62.   
  63. - The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is capable of using monitor 
  64.    timing data contained within Windows 95. This data is selected by  
  65.    configuring a monitor type at Windows 95 installation time or via the  
  66.    "Settings" page of the display properties sheet. If you change the  
  67.    selected monitor type via the "Settings" page of the display properties  
  68.    sheet the new timing data may not take effect until after restarting  
  69.    Windows 95. A solution to this problem is to always restart Windows 95  
  70.    after changing the monitor type.

  72.  - The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is capable of using monitor 
  73.    timing data contained within Windows 95. This data is selected by  
  74.    configuring a monitor type at Windows 95 installation time or via the  
  75.    "Settings" page of the display properties sheet. The Windows 95 mach64  
  76.    enhanced display driver may incorrectly interpret Windows 95 monitor  
  77.    timing data for some older monitors which require interlaced modes.  
  78.    This may cause some options to be disabled. A solution to this problem  
  79.    is to select one of the "(Standard monitor types)" available via the  
  80.    settings page of the display properties sheet.

  82.  - In Windows 95, display drivers can be installed via the "Add New 
  83.    Hardware" wizard ( although the procedure detailed in section 3.0 is 
  84.    recommended ). When the Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is 
  85.    installed via the "Add New Hardware" wizard the "Settings" page does 
  86.    not get installed into the mach64 display adapter property sheet.

  88.  - In Windows 95, Rapid Resuming with the Virtual Desktop on will cause
  89.    loss of the Virtual Desktop.  This is because Windows 95 reinitializes
  90.    the video mode on an APM resume.  No data loss occurs.  The desktop size
  91.    is reduced to the screen size.  Windows 95 also reinitializes the video
  92.    mode when windows is restarted on systems with Rapid Resume.  Again, no 
  93.    data loss occurs and the desktop size is reduced to the screen size.

  98. 5.0     Windows 95 property page problems

  100. - While adjusting monitor settings in the Adjustment page of the Display
  101.   Properties sheet, your monitor could become unreadable. If this occurs,
  102.   press the ESC key to return to your previous monitor settings.
