SWIV 3D
(c) Copyright 1996 SCi (Sales Curve Interactive) Ltd.
PC Format CoverDisk Demo
6th August 1996
System Requirements
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two versions of SWIV appear on this CD, a Windows95
native version and a DOS version. The Windows95 version
uses DirectX (See Below) - if you have problems with
the DirectX drivers, we suggest you try the DOS version
as this will run fine in a Windows95 DOS Box.
For Windows95 run INSTALL.EXE
For DOS run DOSINST.EXE
The Recommended specification of the DEMO is a
Pentium 90 or greater.
The DEMO version has not been optimised and therefore
the final version will run considerably faster.
MMX optimised code is not implemented in this version.
Controls
~~~~~~~~
If you have a mouse or Joystick plugged in the game
will allow you to select your preferred input device.
The default keys are as follows:
Key Helicopter Buggy
Up Fly Forward Drive Forward
Down Fly Back Reverse
Right Turn Right Turn Right
Left Turn Left Turn Left
'>' Bank Right Strafe Right
'<' Bank Left Strafe Left
Space Fire Standard Weapon Fire Standard Weapon
'M' Fire Special Weapons Fire Special Weapons
CTRL Lock Strafe
F1 Setup Menu
Escape Exit to Menu
The DOS version supports analogue joysticks, Gravis
Gamepad and Creative Blaster Gamepad.
The Windows95 version supports the above products and
other DirectInput compatible devices. The appropriate
Joystick driver for Windows95 (supplied by the
manufacturer) must be installed and calibrated before
starting SWIV.
CDAudio
~~~~~~~
The audio soundtrack is a CD-A track and due to driver
limitations volume control is not available on all
machines.
Windows95 & DirectX
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even though Windows95 can have multiple tasks running,
more resources are used - to get the best performance
from SWIV exit as many programs as possible, before
running the game.
Do not attempt to switch tasks when SWIV is running as
this is not currently supported.
SWIV makes use of the DirectX drivers for Windows95
from Microsoft. However as this is relatively new
technology drivers may not exist or be 100% compatible
on your machine. If you experience problems we suggest
you contact your hardware manufacturer who may have
updated drivers or use the DOS version.
Enjoy!
