- In the beginning, Alexander wished only to continue his father's
- dream of defeating the Persians and restoring Greek self-rule
- in Asia Minor; but his incredible military successes against
- Darius, king of the Persians, spurred him to greater and more
- feats of conquest. By the time of his early death, thirteen years
- after his ascension to the Macedonian throne, Alexander had
- either defeated or allied with the independent Greeks, the Thracians,
- the Persians, the Phoenecians, the Egyptians, the Bactrian tribes, and
- the Indians. He was master of the known civilized world. You are given
- the same forces and timetable as Alexander. Can you repeat his accomplishments?
- @end -- this line must be here!
