  4. The 7th Level have only ever brought out two programs of any note so
  5. far - Tuneland and Monty Pythons Complete Waste of Time. But the fancy
  6. graphics multimedia company also have a lot more on the horizon too.
  7. This article takes a look at the company, and some of their games.

  10. ~Tuneland

  12. Despite being well over a year old this childrens storybook still 
  13. shines through on how computer software should be produced. Who 
  14. cares if all it really is is a childrens game packed with nursey
  15. rhymes, its still entertaining for adults too.

  17. For a start all the songs are very profesionally done, sung by some
  18. guy who is apparently famous in the States although nobody has ever
  19. heard of him over here. But his rendition of Hot Cross Buns is
  20. astoundingly good.

  22. The cartoon graphics in each of the locations are great too. The whole
  23. thing comes over as more of a rock and roll extravaganza with 
  24. humourous music and cartoon graphics. If I had kids I'd buy this!

  26. 7th Level are working on a sequel which should hit the shelves within
  27. the next couple of months.

  30. ~Monty Python's Complete Waste Of Time
  31.  
  32. How can you turn Monty Python into a computer game? Have animation as
  33. stupid as it was in the original series and add sound bites of 
  34. sketches, thats how. The "game" is as weird and funny as the series.
  35. One of the best sections is Spot The Looney where you must find the 
  36. right combination of gadgets and gizmos to click on to find a hidden
  37. maze game, while shooting any loonies that may pop up on screen. From
  38. the wind-prone bottomless (as opposed to topless) can-can dancers to 
  39. the Austrailans all called Bruce this is entertaining stuff.

  41. The most useful part (if any of it could be called useful) is the
  42. desktop pythoniser which you can used to totally customise (and 
  43. probably ruin) you Windows desktop.

  45. You'd have to be a fan of the series to get the most out of this, 
  46. but if you are its a very entertaining software title.

  49. ~Arcade America
  50.  
  51. What we have here is a collection of wonderful hi-res cartoon graphics
  52. thrown into a game of simple arcade challeges like a Manic Miner
  53. style level. Even from the intro its obvious graphics have been given
  54. greater importance than gameplay but despite this near fatal design
  55. flaw the game might just be worth owning for the humour the graphics
  56. give. Its unlikely, but I hope its true because Arcade America is so
  57. gorgeous to look at.

  60. ~Battle Beast

  62. It should probably be out by now - Battle Beast is, you've guessed it,
  63. a beat-em-up. The only difference is the trademark 7th Level cartoon
  64. graphics have been employed. Whether the gameplay will be as good as
  65. the cartoon graphics is doubtful though.

  68. So some games with decent visuals but suspect gameplay. 7th Level may
  69. not have got it quite right just yet, but they seem well on the way to
  70. becoming a very promosing software house.
